Moon Rabbit Publishing, LLC

We are a small publishing firm dealing in the fantastic. Our first book, Librarian, was released to critical success in 2013; its sequel, Apprentice, debuted November 2014. We also have several authors launching a literary magazine.

At MRP, we set ourselves apart from mainstream fantastic writing by focusing on creating characters every bit as fantastic as the worlds they live in. We want real emotion from real women, POC, the LGBT community, and yes, we even demand real emotion from stoic, white, heteronormative men! (We heard the gasp.)

And just who makes that fantastic happen? Well, we collaborate with many individuals, but the brains behind MRP belong to two very eclectic individuals.

Brian Fence, author of LIBRARIAN

Brian Fence | Author/Editor/Everything | Troublemaker

Fence founded MRP as an indie firm to publish his first novel, Librarian. In addition to writing, he pays the bills, handles the Internet content, and deals with publicity/marketing. In his ever-diminishing free time, Brian cooks, travels, and has very recently taken up ballroom dancing.

James Aldous | Editor | Destroyer of WorldsJames Aldous

Aldous smashes atoms for money and smashes apart overly-flowery chapters at MRP for love. His MPhys and PhD in Physics make him the perfect candidate to screw up every magical intent an author might have. When he has spare time, he experiences fine, single-malt whiskies and shoots aliens in XCOM.

SUBMISSIONS

MRP is open for submissions of short stories, novellas, and novels. We deal in the fantastic, so that includes fantasy (high or urban), science-fiction, horror, personal journeys of growth, and fiction of marginalized peoples. We’re very approachable, so feel free to shoot either Brian or James a query.
